As for gear my wife has me warned to keep it simple and if I have to but anything make sure it is the best (buy nice or buy twice).
The framed landscape prints are flying out with a really great response from all our customers, next on the list is a series of very limited edition prints on very fancy paper with very fancy frames...ooooh very fancy.
Again thanks for listening or reading my waffelling and God Bless...

]]>2018 was a great year for my landscape photography, no new gear and not too many photos either but what I did shoot turned out good. Looking back I can tell I'm getting more selective in the shots I take. Trying to save memory space on the computer has something to do with it.
As for portraits I had quite a few clients last year and its getting easier to be comfortable around paying customers as my skill level rises... But the nerves are in no way gone. I've been asked to do a few weddings but I'm still refusing them, as I thing the pressure still would out weigh the benefits.
I had the chance to do shoot a lot of events last year and although I don't particularly enjoy shooting so many pictures (so you don't miss anything) in the one session, I did get to meet some great people and the experience of having to get the image was exilerating…
My wee business has become a family affair as my wife Martina and the kids have been doing a lot of Craft-Fairs especially on the run up to Christmas and have been doing Great. Selling framed Landscape prints and also promoting my portraiture. I am lucky to have them supporting me.
That's 2018 in a nutshell. I will try to blog more in 2019 but it's looking more like a yearly update thing...
Many thanks

Again its been a while since I've posted a blog...Busy Busy Busy
I've recently sold my Nikon d7100 to an eye specializing doctor of all things (that's true). Sold my right arm (not true) and bought a Nikon d810....Now this is not a review of the d810, you can get that on youtube but its great.... really great...
Back to blogging, and the one thing I have come to realize in photography after buying the d810 (did I mention I bought a d810) is that light and composition are EVERYTHING especially composition. Now that's not to say the camera has nothing to do with it but when you have ran out of excuses in the camera department (did I mention I bought a d810) you realize light and composition are EVERYTHING.
Hiking and finding new or new to me places is my goal in 2018...
So lets wait and see
Thanks for giving me a wee bit of your time.

When it comes to photography things have been slow but steady and i think the bug is finally back after a wee while of a (not really worried about it) attitude.
So here i am again and hopefully this blog will be a bit more regular from here on in.
On the actual taking photos side, the d7100 is still impressing me and I'm trying to get my flash photography nailed down, i now have two yongnuo flashes and a controller and it seems to be working great, with some fantastic results.
Just have to keep plugging away and learn as much as my wee head will hold.
Every days a school day................
Ta for listening

]]>I get bored very easily unless my mind is being stimulated constantly and the day job's just not enough for me. But luckily I have PHOTOGRAPHY, even without a camera in hand I'm looking for the angles and trying to find that perfect composition in everything I see outta that front windscreen.
But lately it seems to be hard to be motivated, to put in the effort, to actually go out and shoot, don't get me wrong the camera goes nearly everywhere with me but taking it out of the bag is a chore at the minute.
There you go if you have any fixes for my affliction please tell. Failing that hopefully I'll be back soon.
Thanks for listening......
]]>The most of the photos on this site were taken with the D3200 but only time will change that and I'm looking forward to spending the time with the new one and hopefully getting some great shots.
Many thanks for reading

]]>But at least I made time to go and get a few shots in at the football. It rained and by that I mean it was typical N.Irish weather, lovely one minute and really bucketing the next, but i think I got a few good ones despite the awful conditions.
I also did a photoshoot with my niece and nephews but i can't say any more because it's for a surprise. Now I realise that very few people but me will read this, but, better safe than sorry.
I've upgraded the camera this last week but I'll keep that info till next time..........Cliffhanger lol
]]>So that was my first blog. I don't want to bore you with too much nonsense so that's it till next time......
